About

Artist | Photographer | Designer | Musician | Writer

Before the age of 16, I had learned 4 languages plus Chipmunk Basic as a coding language, played 3 instruments, composed music, dabbled in creative writing, performed on big stages as a dancer and pianist, won copious awards and recognitions in arts and academia. My first paid commissioned artwork was in elementary school for an art design used for a nonprofit organization. Exposed to various cultures and traveled to 8+ countries, I experience the world through many perspectives and sensory after my visits to Italy filled with rich art history and exquisite architecture. As a chemist, I am a backwards problem solver. Because of my diverse experiences in both science and the arts, I have a creative, unique way of thinking and approach. I immerse in music through the visualization of movement. And I love bringing beauty to spaces through color, texture, composition, and sensory.

I have worked with multiple materials and mediums of expression: oil paint, pastel pencils, wall paint, watercolor, moss and other dry plants, glass, pottery, photography and digital art, fabrics and textiles, essential oils, piano, and dance. Even now, I often pick up a sketch pad and pencil to pour ideas onto paper. During the past decade working in marketing and branding, I have learned the power of the psychology on consumers, and every component of a brand down to font and color choices can impact the success of a brand. Many consumers make decisions based on emotions and how they experience a brand. Combining my analytical and creative side, I am a visual storyteller who can make memorable first 10 second impressions.

My work is a reflection of my extensive experiences, and I have been fortunate to be mentored by world-renown photographer Scott Frances and to have worked with a number of talented designers and artists. One of my favorite films is My Neighbor Totoro written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli. The years of extensive field research poured into the creation process and the music composed by Joe Hisaishi create a truly magical world in which viewers can immerse in through several senses. Just as how I have been moved by these visionaries and artists, my dream is to create thought-provoking, beautiful work for the world.
